Xeres is a Mediterranean durum that can be spring or fall seeded in that region. The blue-green plants are not heavily stooled out and produce plump blond heads with blond beards longer than the heads. Xeres is an alternative spelling of Jerez, a city in southern Spain best known for its production of Sherry.
