Carrot - Scarlet Horn

Carrots in Europe were originally yellow or white. Scarlet Horn claims to be the first orange carrot dating back to around 1610. The name does not come from the shape of the root but from the town of Hoorn (Netherlands) where this variety first grew. The root looks like a somewhat shorter Chantenay.
