Bee Balm (also known as Western Wild Bergamot) is a stiff upright perennial 2-3' tall in the mint family. The flowers are terminal, head-like clusters, usually pink or purple, blooming in July and August. The plants have a strong pleasant odour and the flowers and leaves are commonly used to make tea. Bee Balm has a long history of being used medicinally by Indigenous people. Grows in partial shade throughout the Parklands and Boreal forest.
