Kanatto is a selection from a wild Filipino tomato tomato with intense crimson colour which was made by Professor T. Graham of OAC, Guelph, ON. It is a late, large, indeterminate cultivar. It produced a heavy crop of large, well-shaped fruits. Using the high crimson gene from Kanatto, Professor Graham developed High Crimson (1963).
