Elymus - Canada Wild Rye

It is a rather short-lived bunch grass to one meter tall with wide, dark green leaves. The flowering head is a long nodding spike with curved awns (beards), looking somewhat like a bottle brush. Found fairly widely in southern Saskatchewan
