Early Rutgers is an early selection of Rutgers (New Jersey Agricultural Experimental Station, 1934). It produces medium to large, intense red fruits on semi-determinate plants. At one time most of the processing tomatoes in the USA were Rutgers. The strain we are offering was selected by Ernie Kerr at the Horticultural Experimental Station in Simcoe, Ontario.
