Borage is a coarse, hairy plant growing 2’-3’ tall. It is a very good bee plant. The mildly cucumber-flavoured leaves can be used in salads, and the flowers can be floated on cold drinks. Readily self seeds. This crop is also grown in Saskatchewan on a field scale for its seeds rich in gamma-linolenic acid. This sample is mainly blue-flowered but may contain the occasional white-flowered plant.
