Accepting 2024 seed orders but also harvesting and processing seeds so there may be some delays in shipping!
This wheat came to us as Triticum baeoticum, but we were unsure with it's identification so we took a sample to the gene bank (PGRC) in Saskatoon and it was actually identified as an emmer. It is a hulled wheat with flat tan/brown heads with long beards. The last time we grew it, in 2022, there was quite a bit of branching in the heads, mostly at the base. This is something we had never noticed before, either because the branching only starts late in the season and 2022 had a very long frost free fall, or because this cultivar is quite variable.
