Kubanka was introduced from Russia about 1900 and was probably the first durum grown in Saskatchewan. The plants are tall with sparse foliage. The heads are medium length with blond beards longer than the heads. It is very drought resistant and will outyield most durums under very dry conditions. Also known as Beloturka.
