Orders still mailed out as time allows, but not rapidly at this time of year! Priority is out in the gardens now for the growing season. Thanks for your understanding and patience.
Avena Strigosa has blue-green upright plants. The small black-hulled seeds weigh about 1.5g/100seeds. It is a historical crop of marginal soils that has largely disappeared but is still grown in the islands off Scotland, generally in mixtures with rye and Bere barley. It is used mostly for animal feed but also human consumption, thatching, and crafts.
